The unique league that will see city based teams gunning for the biggest prize money in domestic golf has got players and fans excited

Inspired by the success of league based tournaments featuring city-centric teams in other sports like cricket, hockey and boxing, the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI), Louis Philippe and RNGM have come together to conceive the Louis Philippe Cup. The revolutionary concept features 10 city based that will fight for the total prize fund of Rs. 1.24 crore — the biggest purse on the Indian tour at the Karnataka Golf Association from March 5-10 2012.

The Louis Philippe Cup is India’s premier and richest domestic golf tournament where top ranked professionals and amateurs from 8 cities will battle it out for highest honours. The event scheduled to take place between the 5th and 10th of March 2012, at the Karnataka Golf Association is endorsed and sanctioned by the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI). This is an important new format innovation in professional golf and could potentially be a game changer in the way fans relate to India’s top golf stars. Professionals would earlier play individually and this tournament now provides an opportunity for them to play in city based teams. The TAKE Solutions World Corporate Golf Challenge gives Indian corporate teams a unique opportunity to represent their country in the only annual World Golf Championship of corporate teams.

The TAKE Solutions World Corporate Golf Challenge is the only official Indian qualifying tournament to select the Indian Team for the World Finals. Its regional tournaments are held in Kodaikanal, Mumbai, Bangalore, Lonavala and Delhi with a National Finals contested by the top two teams from each city.

The World Finals have been held annually since 1994 at the exclusive La Manga Club in Spain apart from one edition each in Jamaica, Mauritius, Kuala Lumpur and South Africa. India started participating in it since 1999.

Golden Greens a 18 holes, par 72 & 7100 yards championship golf course designed by Dr Martin Hwatree is nestled in the Aravalli hills as a piece of art. The Third Edition of Toyota Karnataka Golf Festival kicked off on 1^st September, 2011. The event that endeavor’s to promote Karnataka as a premier, golfing destination, was a roaring success with participation from a record 454 golfers.
